Transitions fair taking place on Monday, February 11 from 10-2 at 11 Broadway, New York, NY on the 14th floor.

Dear Parents and Service Providers,

You should all have received a flyer about Yachad, the National Jewish Council for Disabilities’ upcoming transitions fair taking place on Monday, February 11 from 10-2 at 11 Broadway, New York, NY on the 14th floor.

Parents often ask me about the options and opportunities that exist for their children for when they turn 21. The Now What? Everything You Want to Know About Residences and Programs for Your Special Needs Child After 21 is for all of you who ask these questions and are looking for answers and information.

We are so excited to provide you with the opportunity to come to one place and hear from many different agencies at one time. There will be representatives from HASC, Women’s League, Yad Hachazah, Mishkan, Sinai, Midreshet Darkeinu, Share Chesed, and Yachad. There will also be representatives from New York State Department of Vocational and Educational Services for Individuals with Disabilities (VESID), The New York State Office of Mental Health and from New York City Transit Authority Mobile Sales Unit, for individuals with disabilities. Representatives will be available to give you information and to answer your questions. The tables will be open from 10-2.

There will also be two workshops during the day focusing specifically on residences and programs. The first workshop will take place from 11-12, focusing on residences. The panel of speakers will include Dr. Jeff Lichtman, National Director of Yachad, The National Jewish Council for Disabilities, Pinchas Lerner,
